About the Course
This Class introduces you to gemstone setting techniques by
teaching you how to set stones with the aid of a microscope,
Pneumatic machine and different setting tools.
Course Objectives
Correct setup of a workbench
setting up Microscope, Pneumatic machine, and tools
Tool sharpening, as well as sharpening theory and geometry
Proper use of work-holding fixtures and devices
Layout techniques for round stones
Round stone fitting and seat preparation
prong, flush(gypsy setting), Bezel, bead, Star, and channel setting techniques using round stones
CLASS PROJECT(S)
Practice plates and Rings
All tools and Materials are provided in the Class
Requirement
No requirement or previous experience is necessary.
Course duration: 5 Days
Attendance: 40 Hours
Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 6 pm, with a one-hour lunch break.
Maximum of eight students per Class.
