Course Description

In this Class, you will learn how to prepare metal to receive 24 KT gold for inlay & overlay.

 

 

Course Objectives
 

• Correct setup of the workbench

• Set Microscope, Pneumatic hand-piece, and micro ball 

•  Sharpen gravers and learn the correct geometry to cut with for inlay & overlay.

• preparing and engraving the metal 

• Proper use of work-holding fixtures and devices

• sculpting and carving the gold.

Signet ring or a pendant

All tools and Materials are provided in the Class (use of copper and silver wire) (24 KT gold material is extra)  

 

Course duration: 5 Days 

Attendance: 40 Hours

 

 

Requirements

 

Completion of the Hand Engraving II course or instructor approval is required.

An understanding of proper tool sharpening and basic engraving techniques.
