Beginner Bench Jeweler
Piercing, sawing, filing, torch work, repair, and stone setting — the core skills every working bench jeweler builds a career on.
Combining four of our standalone Bench Jeweler courses into one continuous 4-week program, Beginner Bench Jeweler takes students from foundational hand skills through torch work, everyday repair jobs, and the five essential stone setting styles — the fastest, most affordable path to a bench-ready certification.
Class Details
● Duration: 4 weeks (20 days, Monday–Friday)
● Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (one-hour lunch)
● Class size: 6 students max
● Prerequisite: None — beginner friendly
● What's included: Tools provided for in-class use; materials and finished practice pieces are yours to keep
● Tuition: $5,500 (bundled rate — a savings off the $6,400 à la carte total for these four courses)

Week-by-Week
● Week 1 — Bench Jeweler Fundamentals: piercing, sawing, filing, sanding, and polishing — the four hand skills every goldsmith builds on.
● Week 2 — Torch on the Bench: flame control and solder selection, joining metal cleanly from chains to ring posts.
● Week 3 — Jewelry Repair: retipping worn prongs, sizing rings up and down, and replacing damaged setting heads.
● Week 4 — Stone Setting Fundamentals: one setting style per day — prong, bezel, flush, star, and channel — each laid out, seated, and finished.
What This Class Doesn't Cover Wax carving (covered in Wax Carving Fundamentals), ring fabrication and rolling mill work (covered in Ring Fabrication & Rolling Mill), and diamond micropavé setting (covered in the Diamond Setting track).
