About the Course
3D Grillz Fabrication Workshop
Scan, design, and 3D-print a custom grillz mold using AUTOCAD Meshmixer software.
This course teaches the digital path to a casting-ready grillz mold: scanning a dental mold with a 3D scanner, cleaning up and refining the resulting file, designing a custom grillz pattern in 3D modeling software, and preparing the file for 3D printing. You'll need your own PC laptop and mouse — all software is provided at no cost.
Class Details
Duration: 3 days (Monday–Wednesday)
Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (one-hour lunch)

Skills You'll Gain
Scan a dental mold using a 3D scanner to capture an accurate digital replica
Clean up and refine STL files, fixing imperfections for optimal fit and aesthetics
Separate individual teeth digitally and design a custom grillz pattern
Prepare a digital model for 3D printing, including material selection and print parameter setup
Print a casting mold ready for the casting process
Day-by-Day
Day 1 — 3D scanning and cleanup: scan a dental mold and clean up and refine the resulting STL file.
Day 2 — 3D grillz design: separate individual teeth digitally and design a custom grillz pattern, exploring style and design elements.
Day 3 — 3D printing preparation: select materials, set print parameters, and print a casting mold ready for the casting process.
What This Class Doesn't Cover Hand-carved wax modeling and the actual casting process — this course ends with a 3D-printed resin ready for casting, but doesn't cover casting metal. Traditional impressions, wax carving, and lost-wax casting are covered in Grillz Wax.
What You'll Leave With Your own copy of Meshmixer software, A 3D-printed grillz and your digital STL design files, ready to move into casting.
